Emily Sullivan Barger is an award-winning video journalist and filmmaker based in Providence, RI and New York City. She currently works as producer and editor on the Studios team at AJ+, where she reports on international stories that center marginalized voices.
Prior to joining the Emmy-award winning Studios team, Emily worked on the Daily News team, regularly producing videos that garnered millions of views.
Before joining the acclaimed Al Jazeera publisher, she spent over four years at NowThis News, where she created short and mid-form social videos. These included quick-turns and interview-based videos about news and politcs, as well as mini-docs, explainers, and op-eds relating to criminal legal reform and public health.
Emily holds a BA in Film Production and a minor in Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies from Emerson College, as well as a Graduate Certificate in International Peacemaking from Hartford International University for Religion and Peace.
